Cherry Cake Recipe

This is a recipe I got from one of my Grandmother's old recipe books.

Not sure what "lemon flavouring" is - I just use lemon juice. This recipe doesn't say what size of pan to use, but I use a large loaf pan. The batter will come up to the top, but it won't rise very much - the cake is like a pound cake.It is even more delicious when frozen and then thawed; the freezing does something wonderful to the texture.

I made a 1/2 recipe as I didn't have enough cherries. I substituted margarine and lactose-free milk.

I baked this at 350 degrees for an hour and twenty minutes. Delicious!
